I cannot remember a time I did not want to create. I’ve had a paintbrush in my hand for many years. At one time my plan was to get an art degree, but life changes. And admittedly I struggled with “you can’t do that!” Now, I go whereever the idea takes me. Sometimes it is a disaster, and then there are the times it all comes together. And a few times that disaster turns out to be a favorite.

If you asked me what my style is- that can be up in the air as well. I have been enjoying working with many new mediums. Alot of experimenting. A theme that tends to be trending these days is “keep going, try again.” Is it what is happening in the world, or just my footsteps through it? Or both?

I enjoy working with textures, layers, colors. Inspired by what I see in nature and all that makes up life. There is no realism in my work, yet I hope to promote an emotional sense, state or experience.

I do know the ten-year-old I once was so many years ago is very happy with me. When I am not painting, I train dogs for Search and Rescue. Dogs and Art- a kids dream.
